ISEE Test Practice

ISSE stands for Independent School Entrance Examination and it is specifically designed for the admission of students to private schools. If someone is intending to attend private school in UAE, then this kind of examination will be required.

Grades eligible for admission to private schools:

Students from 5th to 9th grade can appear for this test, but the level of test will be different depending on the grade they are appearing for. The 9th grade admission tests are the toughest.

Questions asked in the test:

The test is based on verbal reasoning, comprehension, quantitative reasoning, mathematical knowledge, etc. These kinds of topics appear in all levels of tests. There are very minor differences between the different level tests. The comprehension reading part lasts for no more than 25 minutes, followed by the mathematics section, which lasts for 30 minutes. Along with two to three other sections, the total duration is 2 hours 50 minutes.

Preparation for the test:

Preparation can be done either online or offline. The ISEE preparation guide needs to be monitored first. There are online portals where practice test sessions can be undertaken and this is one of the best ways to prepare for the test. Most of the study material can be accessed online. There is not much to learn before appearing as most of this will be based on past experience.

Tips and tricks:

One of the most common reasons for falling short on this test is anxiety. This is one of the most difficult things to prepare for. However, the more the students practice on the online test portals, the better they will be prepared to perform on the day of the actual examination.

Facts to be known:

The examination is a written one, but during the pandemic online examinations are being organized. There is no particular age limit to appearing for this exam, but students should at least be old enough to study in the 5th grade.
