      How to become a paramedic

      (1) Entry-level requirements

      The usual requirement for the job position of a parameter it needs two to three A levels for acquiring a degree. There are no specific entry requirements for a parametric yet four or five GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 along with college-level qualification such as A levels for paramedic degree apprenticeship can be adequate requirements to be fulfilled.

      (2) Day-in-the-life

      The responsibility of a parametric includes checking the condition of a patient and taking action to save a life. It can use a defibrillator for resuscitating the patients and carry out surgical procedures and give injections and medicines. Other responsibilities include dressing wounds and assisting doctors in delivering babies. They also work closely with fire services and police. 

      (3) Career path 

      One can become a paramedic by undertaking a university course, apprenticeship, trainee scheme. You can get University qualification for a paramedic approved by the Health and Care Professions Council and can also enrol for full-time courses that might take 3 years. One can start by being an assistant on ambulance care and can apply for training schemes for being a paramedic with further experience and training.

      One needs to register itself as a paramedic on the Health and Care Professions Council.       How to become a midwife

      (1) Entry-level requirements

      One would require a degree in midwifery that is approved by the Nursing & Midwifery Council for applying for any e job vacancy. There is also a need for entry requirements such as five GCSEs at 9 to 4 grades (A* – C) that include science, Maths and English. Two-three A level is needed in science and Higher Education or level 3 diploma is needed in nursing, health or science.

      (2) Day-in-the-life

      Before birth, the duties of a midwife include explaining alternative such as giving birth at home or hospital. It also conducts classes on pregnancy and parents and is engaged in checking the mother’s health during pregnancy. A midwife has to check and monitor the baby’s conditions during labour and assists the doctor in baby delivery.  

      (3) Career path

      One can become a midwife by undertaking University degree, apprenticeship or by enrolling in any specialist course under a professional body. There can be a requirement for unpaid or paid experiences of working in a carer role. If an individual is a registered nurse, then it has qualification for conversion course to midwifery. With experience and training, a midwife can become ward manager, midwifery consultant, midwifery director or health visitor.
